JO: What to do when the JO-1MDW screen is black, unresponsive and the LED light is constantly flushing?

If your JO-1MDW is unresponsive with a black screen and orange flushing LED light, please attempt the below.

  1. Please press the RESET button to see if a reboot will fix the issue.
The RESET button is located on the left-hand side of the JO-1MDW monitor.
  2. If the RESET button doesn’t fix the issue, it may be that the JO-1MDW failed at the firmware update.
In this case, please attempt a manual firmware installation using a micro SDHC card ( min. 4GB, max 32GB, FAT 32 format, Speed Class 10).Step1. Please download the JO-1MDW firmware from the URL belowhttps://www.aiphone.net/support/software-documents/jo_series/

Step2. Using your computer, please copy the firmware .bin file into the SDHC card

Step3. Please insert the micro SDHC card in the JO-1MDW. The SDHC card slot is located on the right side of the JO-1MDW

Step4. Please leave the SDHC card for 15 to 30 minutes. If successful, the firmware will be updated and the JO-1MDW will be operational again

Step5. Please remove the SDHC card from the JO-1MDW

GT: Can I use a JP door station with a GT-2C?

The JP door station can perform the door station tasks when connected to a GT-2C.

What we found out is that the red hue of the video image from the JP will be a few levels faint than the expected colour balance.

Therefore, Aiphone as a manufacturer had deemed the use of JP door stations with the GT-2C as incompatible.

If you have decided to use the JK-1MED with a JP door station, please note that Aiphone can’t provide any assistance in case of product failure.

JK: Can I use a JP door station with my JK-1MED?

While the JP door stations (JP-DA, JP-DV, JP-DVF) can perform the default door station tasks with the JK-1MED, on some rare occasions we have encountered the following reboot behaviour.

Symptom: The system will reboot when the following actions are taken

  1. The system will reboot when a call had timed out and the call button at the door station had been pressed to call the master station
  2. The system will reboot after pressing the call button straight after the call or the communication had finished

Due to this reboot behaviour, Aiphone, as a manufacturer, had deemed the JP door station as incompatible with the JK-1MED.

Also, as the JK series had been superseded and as the JP door station hadn’t been developed with the objective to be used with a JK master station, the symptom above is out of Aiphone’s scope of support.
The same information can apply to the JK-1MD which is an older version of the JK system.
Either way, if you have decided to use the JK-1MED with a JP door station, please note that Aiphone can’t provide any assistance in case of product failure.
The alternative would be an upgrade to the JO system or the JF system depending on the current JK configuration that you have.

GT: Can you trigger the GTW-LC relay for floor access, when the resident open the entrance by using the access code in the GT entrance stations?

The answer is no. While the GT system provides an access code for keyless entry, that only triggers the relay in the GT entrance station.

The GTW-LC triggers the relay for lift floor access only when the door release button at the tenant station had been pressed.
